ROTOCON Partners with VICUT to Launch Digital Cutting Solutions in South Africa

ROTOCON has partnered with VICUT to introduce their digital cutting and finishing machines to South Africa. The collaboration includes a range of machines suitable for various applications, particularly aimed at smaller print shops. At Propak Africa 2025, ROTOCON will display VICUT’s advanced technologies and provide demonstrations in their Johannesburg showroom, highlighting the increasing demand in the market.

ROTOCON has established a partnership with VICUT, a leading Chinese manufacturer, to introduce their advanced digital cutting and finishing machines into the South African market. This collaboration was initiated during drupa 2024 and formalized in September through a visit to ROTOCON’s facility in Johannesburg, alongside a shared exhibition at FESPA Africa 2024.

VICUT offers an extensive line of machinery including the VL-450X for digital laminating and foiling, the VFC90 digital flatbed DTF cutter, the FC700/500 flatbed cutter, the CC330/220 auto-fed card cutter, and the SC-350 auto-fed sheet label cutter. The FC700/500 model, in particular, is notable for its precision in creating custom packaging with both cutting and creasing capabilities, ideal for niche markets or personalized production runs.

At Propak Africa 2025, ROTOCON will showcase various VICUT post-press cutting solutions at stands B9, B13, A8, and A14. Machines on display will include the VL-450X, VFC90, SC-350 Vulcan sheet-fed label cutter, and the FC-500VC Vulcan flatbed cutting plotter, with ROTOCON participating as a gold sponsor.

Patrick Aengenvoort, ROTOCON’s sales director, emphasized the suitability of VICUT’s machines for smaller print shops and businesses utilizing wide-format printers. Applications such as offline die-cutting for vinyl printing, short-run business cards, and personalized invitations highlight the versatility of these machines in the current market.

ROTOCON’s Johannesburg showroom hosts a range of VICUT machines for demo purposes, with on-site training and support from experienced technicians available throughout South Africa. Aengenvoort noted a significant interest in VICUT’s technology, especially after selling both a CC330 auto-fed card cutter and an FC500 flatbed cutter during FESPA Africa, which reflects the rising demand for innovative cutting and finishing solutions.

The integration of advanced digital cutting and finishing technology is crucial for the graphics industry, particularly in South Africa where businesses are seeking efficient and versatile machines. The partnership between ROTOCON and VICUT aims to address these needs by offering a variety of machines that cater to both small and medium-sized print operations. VICUT’s expert machinery enhances the capabilities of local companies, promoting growth in custom packaging and specialized printing applications.

ROTOCON’s collaboration with VICUT marks a significant step in elevating the digital cutting and finishing landscape in South Africa. With an impressive lineup of machines designed for various applications, ROTOCON aims to meet the growing demands of the graphics industry. The positive reception of VICUT’s technology at industry events underlines the potential for further innovation and support within the local market.
