Tehran – Ahmad-Reza Lahijanzadeh from the Department of Environment (DOE) represented Iran at the 38th executive committee meeting of the Regional Organization for the Protection of Marine Environment (ROPME) in Kuwait. Established in 1979, ROPME is ratified by seven member states: Iran, Bahrain, Iraq, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE, aiming to protect the marine and coastal ecosystems in the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
The meeting underscored the significance of regional collaboration for marine environmental protection. As Iran actively participates in these initiatives, the nation emphasizes the need for innovative strategies and cooperative research to address marine pollution.
