On March 9, Ambassador Adarsh Swaika of India held a meeting with Kuwait’s Minister of Finance, Economic Affairs, and Investment, Noura Sulaiman Al-Fassam, in Kuwait City. The discussions focused on enhancing bilateral investment cooperation across various sectors, showcasing a commitment to strengthening ties between India and Kuwait.
Following Ambassador Swaika’s meeting, the Indian Embassy in Kuwait highlighted the dialogue on X, reaffirming the intention to foster investment opportunities. This meeting follows Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Kuwait in December, where he engaged in discussions that further deepened India-Kuwait relations.
During PM Modi’s visit, he met with Emir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to discuss cooperation in key sectors such as pharmaceuticals, IT, FinTech, and security. Their discussions led to the elevation of their collaboration into a ‘Strategic Partnership,’ emphasizing the importance of sustained bilateral relations.
In addition to formal talks, PM Modi interacted with Kuwaiti social media influencers promoting Yoga, reflecting a cultural dimension to the bilateral ties. The visit concluded with a ceremonial welcome and Guard of Honour at Bayan Palace, where Kuwait’s Prime Minister Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah received him on the second day of the visit.
Both leaders acknowledged the historical ties between their countries and pledged to deepen cooperation, with PM Modi expressing optimism about the flourishing friendship and collaboration in future endeavors.
