Furthermore, the Net-Zero Asset Owner Alliance expanded to 89 members, collectively managing nearly $10 trillion in assets. The alliance has effectively reduced emissions within their portfolios by approximately 6% annually since its inception in 2019.
Despite advances in areas such as artificial intelligence for environmental issues and promoting women’s inclusion in environmental governance, challenges remain. UNEP acknowledges that global temperatures are rising, ecosystems are vanishing, and pollution persists as a critical threat.
