Anwar disclosed that an online meeting took place this morning with ARM’s CEO, alongside Masayoshi Son, CEO of SoftBank Group Corp, a notable Japanese investment company.
During a media briefing following the launch of the Malaysia Madani Logo Placement, Anwar expressed optimism regarding the upcoming agreement, stating, “Insya-Allah, we will finalise the agreement next week, and it will be signed.”
Anwar noted ARM’s renown in semiconductor design and manufacturing, stating, “ARM has chosen to base itself in Malaysia, Alhamdulillah.” He acknowledged that such foreign investments are a result of Malaysia’s political stability and clear policies promoting economic growth.
However, Anwar highlighted potential challenges such as the need for a skilled workforce to meet the demands of incoming investments. He emphasized the necessity of providing training and creating opportunities for young professionals, stating, “This is a major test — can we provide tens of thousands of young professionals?”
