He stated, “We cannot allow this scourge to continue to harm the USA…the proposed TARIFFS…will, indeed, go into effect, as scheduled.”

Historically, Trump has fluctuated in his approach, previously postponing these tariffs. Following the announcement, the S&P 500 index fell by 1.6%, erasing nearly all gains since Trump’s election.
