Rajendra Prabhulall, former Anna Regina Mayor and pastor, has died. He served as an educator and then as an information officer before becoming Mayor in 2018. Notably dedicated to his community, he also led the Voice of Faith Ministries.

Rajendra Prabhulall, a notable figure in Anna Regina, has passed away. He served the community as a pastor and held the position of Mayor for two terms, following a lengthy career as an information officer in Region Two. Prabhulall began his educational journey at St Laurence Anglican School in Hampton Court on the Essequibo Coast and entered teaching at age 17.

His initial teaching role was at Fisher Primary School in Golden Fleece in 1976. In 1980, he moved to Port Kaituma Primary School due to his father’s transfer to Region One. After five years, Prabhulall returned to the Essequibo Coast, married, and continued his teaching career at Sparta Primary School and later at St Laurence Anglican Primary School, now called Hampton Court Primary School.

Seeking improved wages, he left teaching in 1992 to manage the Lima Fish Port Complex for five years, followed by a position as Regional Information Officer with the Regional Democratic Council, where he served until retirement in 2015. Prabhulall, however, didn’t remain inactive post-retirement; he successfully ran for Mayor of Anna Regina in 2018 and was re-elected for a subsequent term.

In addition to his public service, Prabhulall was the pastor of Voice of Faith Ministries, reflecting his commitment to both community leadership and spiritual guidance.
