The Prime Minister of Cuba is currently on a two-day official visit to the Republic of Congo, where he was welcomed at the headquarters of the Congolese Executive. During his visit, he engaged in private discussions with his Congolese counterpart, Prime Minister Collinet Makosso.

Following their talks, Marrero, along with Makosso, honored the late President Marien Ngouabi at his mausoleum. He laid a wreath on behalf of Cuba, expressing his deep respect for Ngouabi’s role in nurturing the bilateral relations and cooperation between the two nations.

Marrero highlighted the strong friendship forged between Ngouabi and Fidel Castro, noting that Cubans hold Ngouabi in high regard. Ngouabi governed Congo from 1969 until his assassination in 1977 and actively supported various national liberation movements across Africa.

After paying tribute, the Cuban delegation, which included several key ministers and the Cuban Ambassador Indira Nápoles, engaged in a working session with Congolese ministers to further discuss areas of cooperation.
