Khidoyatov emphasized a global shift in investment patterns, attributing Uzbekistan’s economic growth to its open and pragmatic policies under the President’s leadership. He noted that while investments from China have increased, countries such as Germany, France, Turkey, India, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and Malaysia are also engaging in business within Uzbekistan, reflecting a normal trend for developing nations.
The Press Secretary acknowledged the movement of Uzbek entrepreneurs and migrants abroad, paralleling this with foreign nationals, including Chinese, working in Uzbekistan. He explained that a Chinese diaspora exists globally, including in Western Europe and North America, without being perceived as a threat.
Highlighting Uzbekistan’s historical partnership with China, Khidoyatov reassured citizens of China’s respect for Uzbekistan’s territorial sovereignty, supported by a special agreement. He dispelled fears by citing the significant number of Indian students in Uzbekistan, suggesting that merely having foreign nationals does not equate to taking over the country.
