Galileo Resources Enhances Copper Exploration in Northwest Zambia

Galileo Resources PLC announced progress in exploration within Northwest Zambia, completing two drill holes totaling 706.4 meters in Licence 28001. The findings, supported by geological and geophysical studies, have identified key mineralization targets. Future exploration is planned post-rainy season, emphasizing confirmation of geological features essential for guiding operations.

Galileo Resources PLC (AIM:GLR) has made notable advancements in its exploration efforts located in Northwest Zambia. Recently, the company completed two drill holes in Licence 28001, totaling 706.4 meters, which confirmed the stratigraphy of the broader area. This data, along with geological mapping, historical geophysical data interpretation, and stream sediment sampling, has identified significant zones of mineralization within the licence.

The findings from these efforts will help direct future exploration, particularly in locating potential ‘Kamoa-Kakula-type’ copper mineralization. Planning for the next exploration phase is currently underway, with work set to begin after the rainy season.

Galileo’s chief executive, Colin Bird, emphasized the significance of these geological explorations, noting that verification through drilling was essential for confirming the Licence’s placement within the Western Foreland domain. He highlighted the considerable potential for exploration success, especially considering the proximity to the DRC, which is known for housing some of the richest copper mines globally. Bird expressed optimism about narrowing down the search area to the most promising sections of the Licence as the next exploration campaign approaches after the rainy period.

Galileo Resources is advancing its exploration initiatives in Northwest Zambia, evidenced by the completion of two significant drill holes that confirmed stratigraphy. This process, combined with supplementary geological studies, has identified promising mineralization zones. The upcoming exploration phase, crucial for the potential discovery of valuable copper deposits, is set to commence post-rainy season, signaling a focused and strategic approach to resource exploration.
