The mission force is tasked with key responsibilities under U.S. Cyber Command, including conducting “hunt forward” operations in allied countries to assess and secure their cybersecurity systems against intrusions. In recent efforts, U.S. personnel supported Ukraine’s cybersecurity framework before withdrawals coinciding with the escalating conflict. The mission force also collaborates with the NSA to protect elections however Hartman refrained from disclosing specific details on interventions against foreign influence activities this year.
