El Salvador’s Vice-President Félix Ulloa reaffirmed the country’s support for Morocco’s sovereignty over the Sahara during talks with Ambassador Yazourh. The meeting highlighted strong bilateral ties and a shared commitment to promote peace and economic cooperation between the two nations, along with an appreciation for El Salvador’s recent advancements under President Bukele.
On Monday, El Salvador’s Vice-President Félix Ulloa reiterated the country’s support for Morocco’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, particularly over the Sahara region. This affirmation was made during discussions with Fouad Yazourh, Morocco’s Ambassador for Bilateral Relations, in San Salvador, coinciding with the second session of political talks between both nations.
Ulloa noted that since 2019, El Salvador has been enhancing its diplomatic relationship with Morocco, marked by the establishment of an embassy in Rabat in 2022. He stated, “These actions have marked an important milestone in Salvadoran foreign policy and reaffirmed support for Morocco’s sovereignty over its entire territory, including the Sahara.”
Yazourh emphasized the strong ties between Morocco and El Salvador, pointing out their mutual interest in fostering deeper cooperation across various sectors. He also underscored the shared commitment to promoting peace, respecting sovereignty, and supporting development in alignment with King Mohammed VI’s vision.
Furthermore, Yazourh commended the positive transformations occurring in El Salvador under President Nayib Bukele’s leadership, which have enhanced the nation’s security, stability, and economic growth. He expressed Morocco’s eagerness to strengthen economic and trade partnerships with El Salvador.
