Al-Jazaeri articulated the significance of Sadrist participation in the elections, stating that their alliances would greatly influence electoral outcomes. Al-Sadr resigned from his Parliamentary post and called for the resignation of all 73 of his MPs to distance himself from what he termed “corrupt politicians.”
