The Federal Authorities of Nigeria on Sunday prolonged its condolences to the federal government and other people of the Republic of Ghana over the demise of its Excessive Commissioner to Nigeria, His Excellency Rashid Bawa.
Bawa reportedly died on Thursday in Abuja after a quick sickness.
The Federal Authorities, in a press release signed by the Ministry of Overseas Affairs spokesperson, Francisca Omayuli, stated the late Bawa will probably be significantly missed.
“The Federal Authorities of Nigeria, with a deep sense of unhappiness, extends its condolences to the Authorities and other people of the Republic of Ghana over the demise of HE Rashid Bawa, the Excessive Commissioner of Ghana to Nigeria on Thursday, March 14, 2024 in Abuja after a quick illness.
“The late Excessive Commissioner was a nice diplomat who contributed immensely to selling the long-standing and strategic relations between Nigeria and Ghana.
“His diplomatic prowess and honest dedication to selling pleasant relations and mutual understanding between the 2 sister international locations, throughout his tenure as Ghana's principal consultant in Nigeria, will probably be ceaselessly appreciated. He will probably be significantly missed.
“Might his soul relaxation in peace and should God grant the bereaved household, the federal government and the great individuals of Ghana the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss,” FG stated.
Bawa was appointed Excessive Commissioner to Nigeria by President Nana Akufo-Addo in 2017.
Bawa, a Ghanaian politician, diplomat and member of the New Patriotic Social gathering, served as Ghana's ambassador to Saudi Arabia between 2005 and 2008.
From 2001 to January 2005, he served as an impartial candidate within the Ghanaian Parliament for the Akan constituency.
