Nobel laureate Professor Wole Soyinka would be the particular visitor of honor this afternoon when the Committee for Related Arts (CORA) opens its library and knowledge heart at Freedom Park, Lagos Island.
The ceremony, which begins at 4 p.m. and can be attended by different literary lovers, marks the beginning of CORA's 2024 tradition season.
A press release signed by CORA's program officer Ifunanya Ottih defined that the library and knowledge heart will serve the general public curiosity, particularly college students and youth.
The assertion learn partially: “The intention is to proceed to encourage residents to see schooling as the one key to enlightenment and empowerment – all within the curiosity of nation constructing and human capital growth.
“The Library will usually arrange literary actions, particularly the flagship CORA BOOKTrek, the Literacy Marketing campaign venture, which brings authors into direct encounters with readers of their works.
“The LR&C may also arrange common applications on key actions to enhance literacy, reminiscent of workshops and seminars on writing, studying and talking, amongst others. It will likely be a house for fellow artist organizations dedicated to deepening literacy within the nationwide consciousness.”
Ottih added that a number of organizations and people together with the Freedom Park, Chief Kayode. Aderinokun (Chair CORA Trustee), the CORA board members, subscribers and volunteers, and Hawthornden Basis help the venture
“Basically, it advantages from donations from authors, publishers, bookstores and members of the general public on the whole,” this system officer stated.
