The Financial and Monetary Crimes Fee has mentioned it has commenced investigation into the actions of eight suspected oil thieves in Rivers State.

The suspects have been transferred to the Port Harcourt Zone Command of the EFCC on January 10, 2024, by the Nigerian Navy Ahead Working Base, Akiama Highway, Bonny Island, Rivers State.

The EFCC, in an announcement on its web site, famous that the suspects have been arrested with an unquantified amount of illegally obtained LPG oil, also called diesel, alongside Bonny Channel.

In response to the Naval Hand-Over Officer, Lieutenant Commander GY Gwaza, the ship, MV Cabrini, and her eight crew members have been arrested throughout an operation on November 8, 2023.

Gwaza mentioned the suspected oil thieves have been handed over to the EFCC for additional investigation and attainable prosecution.
