The Ministry of Overseas Affairs mentioned on Thursday there was no reality in stories that it had arrested a former deputy governor of the Central Financial institution of Nigeria, Aisha Ahmad.
It mentioned it had not arrested any present or former prime financial institution officers prior to now 48 hours.
The DSS introduced this in a tweet on its official X-handle (previously Twitter).
Reviews of Ahmad's alleged arrest went viral on the web on Thursday.
The stories recommended she was arrested over an alleged fraudulent acquisition of shares in Polaris, Titan Belief and Union banks.
The spokesperson of the DSS, Dr. Peter Afunanya, didn’t reply to queries when contacted by our correspondent earlier on the matter.
Nevertheless, on Thursday night, the DSS tweeted: “The DSS has not arrested any former or present officer of the CBN within the final 48 hours.”
