The Impartial Nationwide Electoral Fee (INEC) has ordered 4 administrators to retire.

The committee mentioned the choice stems from the round on the eight-year tenure coverage for administrators in public service, as ordered by the federal authorities in July.

The Nationwide Commissioner and Chairman, Info and Voter Schooling Committee of the Fee, Sam Olumekun, disclosed this in an announcement on Wednesday.

Whereas he didn’t identify the administrators concerned, he mentioned two of them served as heads of departments on the Fee headquarters in Abuja, whereas the opposite two served as administrative secretaries in the USA.

He mentioned: “Following the Federal Authorities Round HSCF/SPSO/268/T3/2/37, issued on 27 July 2023, the Fee has authorised the implementation of a coverage requiring all administrators with eight years or longer obliged to withdraw from the general public sector.

“Below this directive, 4 Administrators of the Fee will go on everlasting depart. Two of them function heads of departments on the nationwide headquarters, whereas the opposite two are deployed as administrative secretaries in our state places of work. Nevertheless, you will need to be aware that scientific officers within the medical setting are exempt from this coverage, as clarified within the MH Round. 7205/T/31 dated September 7, 2023.

“The Fee needs the affected administrators effectively as they retire.”
