During a bilateral meeting at Malacañang, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet praised the Philippine government’s efforts in peace initiatives and human resource development. He emphasized the importance of both civilian and military contributions to these processes.
Hun Manet acknowledged the significant impact of Filipinos in Cambodia, underscoring their contributions to the nation’s socio-economic advancements. He stated, “We also recognize the vital role of the Filipino community in our socioeconomic progress.”
With diplomatic ties established for 68 years, Hun Manet noted the vast areas of cooperation between Cambodia and the Philippines, including Defense, Security, Trade, Investment, and Economic Development. He conveyed a strong desire to enhance these collaborations further.
Recalling the history shared between the two nations, Hun Manet pointed out King Norodom’s visit to the Philippines in 1872 as a foundation for their relationship built on respect and mutual interests. He expressed optimism for the future of Philippine-Cambodian relations.
