Brazil has gained new agricultural market access in South Korea for sesame seeds and in Guatemala for gelatin and collagen. These approvals enhance trade relationships and open new opportunities for Brazilian exporters, reinforcing Brazil’s role in global agricultural markets. Since 2023, the country has secured 317 new market access points.
The Brazilian government has announced that South Korea and Guatemala will now import additional Brazilian agricultural products. South Korea has approved Brazilian sesame seed imports, enhancing trade relations, while Guatemala has confirmed Brazilian gelatin and collagen exporters meet their regulatory standards. These agreements will create new opportunities in Brazil’s food and pharmaceutical sectors.
Brazil has established itself as a significant player in global agricultural exports, and the expansion into South Korea and Guatemala underscores its strategic efforts to diversify markets. The country primarily exports grains, meat, and oilseeds, with South Korea being a particularly valuable destination, importing $2.85 billion of such products in 2024. Additionally, Guatemala serves as another essential market for Brazilian agricultural goods, particularly in forestry, grains, and oilseeds, with exports reaching $248.9 million.
These recent market access approvals signify Brazil’s continuous growth in agricultural exports. Since 2023, Brazilian agribusiness has secured 317 new market opportunities, enhancing its export diversification and reinforcing the country’s reputation as a global leader in agricultural supply. These efforts are driven by the collaboration of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
