JSFM Chairman Sohail Abro condemned Pakistan’s treatment of Sindh and PoJK during a protest in London. He emphasized solidarity among oppressed regions and called for global awareness of human rights violations. The UKPNP organized the protest against Pakistan’s observance of Kashmir Solidarity Day, demanding self-determination for PoJK.
Sohail Abro, the Chairman of the Jeay Sindh Freedom Movement (JSFM), condemned Pakistan’s treatment of Sindhis and affirmed his support for the independence of Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). Speaking at a protest organized by the United Kashmir People’s National Party (UKPNP) on February 5 outside Pakistan’s High Commission in London, he underscored the collective struggles of oppressed regions such as Sindh, PoJK, and Balochistan.
During the protest, Abro addressed Pakistan’s historical aggression in Kashmir, noting that, “Pakistan launched an attack on Jammu and Kashmir during the rule of Maharaja Hari Singh in 1947 and unlawfully took control of parts of the region.” He stressed the importance of unity among oppressed nations in their quest for rights and freedom, encouraging sustained activism to bring international attention to these issues.
Abro pledged to leverage international platforms to highlight the injustices inflicted upon people in PoJK and Sindh. He also called for heightened global awareness regarding human rights violations and urged continued activism against Pakistan’s state-sponsored oppression of these regions.
The protest was part of UKPNP’s efforts to oppose Pakistan’s observance of ‘February 5th Kashmir Solidarity Day’. Demonstrators voiced their condemnation of Pakistan’s exploitation, holding signs with messages like “Stop torture against innocent people” and “No to occupation”.
UKPNP reiterated its commitment to a peaceful struggle while demanding self-governance and self-determination for PoJK’s populace. The party urged the international community to scrutinize and hold Pakistan accountable for its ongoing interferences in Kashmir, emphasizing the need for recognizing Kashmir’s right to autonomy through concrete consequences for Pakistan’s actions.
The plight of Sindhi people and the residents of Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir has been a longstanding issue, characterized by allegations of human rights violations and suppression by Pakistan. The JSFM and UKPNP are organizations advocating for the rights of these marginalized groups, seeking to draw international attention to their struggles and pressing for independence and self-determination.
The protest highlighted the commitment of the JSFM and UKPNP to fight against oppression in Sindh and PoJK. Through continued activism and global advocacy, they aim to expose Pakistan’s human rights abuses and push for autonomy rights for Kashmiris and Sindhis. The event marks a significant call for international support to address ongoing injustices in these regions.
