Addressing the media, Trutnev reflected on his longstanding connection with Nujoma, noting their meeting over 20 years ago. He emphasized Nujoma’s role in the liberation movement and acknowledged the historical ties between Namibia and the Soviet Union. Trutnev expressed regret for not being able to attend Nujoma’s funeral and remarked on the importance of paying respects to such an influential figure.
During the ongoing visit, Trutnev is scheduled to meet with Selma Ashipala-Musavyi, Namibia’s Minister of International Relations and Trade, to facilitate discussions regarding economic cooperation between Russia and Namibia.
