Günter Lemperts, a pioneering water engineer in Namibia, is set to retire at the end of April after nearly 40 years in the field. Throughout his career, he has addressed some of the nation’s pressing water challenges and contributed significantly to the design of potable water systems for various communities across the country.
Thomas Seifart, Dr. Lempert’s protégé and successor, expressed appreciation for Lemperts’ contributions, stating, “While Günter will be sorely missed, he has more than earned some time off to enjoy his retirement. We are incredibly grateful for his hard work and the invaluable contributions he has made to our team and clients over the years.”
Seifart announced, “After more than 35 years of dedicated service in water and wastewater treatment, Dr. Lempert will be retiring from Aquarius Consult at the end of April 2025,” emphasizing the mixed emotions surrounding this transition.
Lemperts has demonstrated a strong commitment to his work, taking on challenging tasks and ambitious deadlines without hesitation. Seifart noted that Sundays often became workdays to ensure tasks were completed on time.
