Chile’s President Gabriel Boric Font will embark on a State Visit to India from April 1-5 at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as announced by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). Accompanying Boric will be a high-level delegation comprised of ministers, parliament members, senior officials, business representatives, and key cultural figures involved in the India-Chile relationship.
This visit marks President Boric’s first official trip to India in his presidential capacity. His itinerary includes stops in Agra, Mumbai, and Bengaluru before his return to Chile on April 5. During this period, Boric is expected to engage in discussions with Prime Minister Modi on the full spectrum of India-Chile relations, and PM Modi will host a lunch in his honor.
Additionally, Boric will engage with Indian President Draupadi Murmu and attend a banquet hosted in his honor. The MEA stated, “India’s relations with Chile have traditionally been warm and friendly,” highlighting Chile’s significance as a partner in the Latin American region.
