Bangladeshi Cricketers’ PSL 10 Participation in Question Amid Zimbabwe Test Series

Bangladeshi cricketers’ participation in PSL 10 is uncertain due to a Test series against Zimbabwe. Nahid Rana has applied for a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the BCB, which is reviewing his workload and upcoming matches. The scheduling conflict complicates the decision, with other players like Rishad Hossain and Litton Das also set to participate in PSL.

The participation of Bangladeshi cricketers in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10 is uncertain due to a scheduling clash with a Test series against Zimbabwe. Fast bowler Nahid Rana has requested a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to play in the PSL, and the board is weighing his workload against the upcoming series before making a decision.

Nahid Rana was selected by Peshawar Zalmi during the PSL draft, which is important for his career. The last league match for Peshawar Zalmi is set for May 7, leading up to the playoffs and final on May 18. Meanwhile, the Zimbabwe team is scheduled to arrive in Bangladesh on April 15 for their Test matches, complicating the decision for the BCB.

The first Test match will take place in Sylhet starting April 20, followed by the second match in Chattogram on April 28. This series is not associated with the World Test Championship but poses a challenge for the BCB regarding player availability during the PSL.

The board is contemplating whether to grant an NOC to Nahid Rana for the entire PSL season or just parts of it. He has only participated in two of five matches for the Abahani Cricket Team as part of his workload management. Other Bangladeshi players also participating in PSL 10 include Rishad Hossain with Lahore Qalandars and Litton Das, who was drafted by Karachi Kings.

The involvement of Bangladeshi players in PSL 10 is in limbo as the BCB evaluates the impact of the concurrent Test series against Zimbabwe. Nahid Rana’s request for an NOC exemplifies the challenges presented by the overlapping schedules. With crucial matches ahead for both the national team and the PSL, decisions regarding player participation will be pivotal for their careers and national representation.
