Claro Colombia has successfully migrated its critical systems to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), enhancing operational efficiency. This transition reduced transactional data latency in Bogotá to just 4-5 seconds and significantly cut infrastructure deployment time from four months to two weeks. Team productivity has seen a considerable boost, as reported during Claro’s Tech Summit.
The company’s Colombian cloud region is hosted in the Triara datacenter, a $100 million facility located along the Bogotá-Medellín highway. Under a collaboration announced in 2022, Claro invested $25 million for this datacenter upgrade, involving the migration of over 100 on-premise servers that handle mission-critical processes to Oracle’s cloud solutions.
In its first year, Oracle’s cloud region reported growth from seven to nearly 500 customers while increasing its service offerings from 20 to more than 150, effectively doubling service consumption. Furthermore, Claro declared an investment of 15 billion pesos ($3.6 million) into technical capabilities, software, and AI, aimed at enhancing cybersecurity measures and incorporating AI technology into their corporate solutions portfolio.
Claro Colombia’s migration to Oracle Cloud has streamlined its IT infrastructure, leading to impressive reductions in latency and deployment time. The partnership has expanded service offerings significantly and increased customer engagement. The company’s additional investment in cybersecurity and AI demonstrates its commitment to leveraging cutting-edge technology for improved operational resilience and corporate solutions.
