His performance included 140 kilograms in the snatch and 170 kilograms in the clean and jerk, surpassing his personal best by 13 kilograms and winning by a 29-kilogram margin over his closest competitor.
At just 19 years old, Emanuel, who made his international debut at Manuel Suarez Fernandez Gymnasium, expressed pride in claiming his first local title in this junior event. With the Junior Pan American Games in Asuncion 2025 approaching, Emanuel and his coaches aim for further success in the multisport event scheduled from August 9 to 23.
Camilo Reynaldo Ramirez, the national commissioner for weightlifting, indicated that even if Emanuel’s weight class is not included in the Paraguayan competition, they are prepared to compete in a higher weight class of 88 kilograms. Furthermore, Edisnel Enrique Corrales also shone in the tournament, lifting 327 kilograms in the biathlon and eclipsing his previous record by 13 kilograms, making lifts of 145 and 182 kilograms in the snatch and clean and jerk, respectively.
