Microsoft Flight Simulator World Update 19: Enhancements for Brazil and Beyond

World Update 19 for Microsoft Flight Simulator enhances the simulation with new content from Brazil, Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana, including realistic landscapes, handcrafted airports, and flight challenges. Additionally, the CAP-4 Paulistinha aircraft is included to offer users a nostalgic flying experience. The update is available for free on the MSFS Marketplace.

Microsoft Flight Simulator has released World Update 19, featuring Brazil, Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana. This free update enhances the simulation experience with realistic landscapes, vibrant cities, and famous landmarks. Collaborating with Bing Maps, Maxar, and Vexcel, the update integrates various geospatial data sources, including aerial photographs and digital terrain modeling, for realistic imagery.

World Update 19 showcases 75 Points of Interest (POIs) across the four countries, including notable sites like the Christ the Redeemer statue and Fort Zeelandia. Additionally, players can explore four TIN cities in Brazil: Brasilia, Ouro Preto, Rio de Janeiro, and Sao Paulo. This update also features seven handcrafted airports, developed by Gaya Simulations, across Brazil, Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana.

The included airports are: Santarem-Maestro Wilson Fonseca International Airport (SBSN), Foz do Iguacu International Airport (SBFI), Fernando de Noronha Airport (SBFN), Santos Dumont (SBRJ), Kaieteur International Airport (SYKA/PKSA), Zorg en Hoop Airport (SMZO), and Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni Airport (SOOM). The update is further enriched with three Discovery Flights, three Landing Challenges, and three Bush Trips, exclusive to Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. Starting March 17th, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 will introduce Brazil-focused content, including a helicopter challenge and more.

Another addition to the game is Local Legend 20: the CAP-4 Paulistinha, a Brazilian light aircraft from the 1940s. Developed by Companhia Aeronáutica Paulista, the CAP-4 Paulistinha was designed for flight training and is comparable to the Piper Cub. It has a Franklin 4AC engine producing 65 horsepower and features a range of 310 miles with a cruise speed of 87 MPH.

Developed in partnership with iniBuilds, the CAP-4 Paulistinha is available for free to Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 users as a gesture of goodwill for past launch issues. Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 users can acquire the aircraft from the MSFS Marketplace for $14.99.

World Update 19 significantly enhances Microsoft Flight Simulator by adding detailed landscapes and key landmarks in Brazil, Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana, alongside new handcrafted airports and flight challenges. The introduction of the CAP-4 Paulistinha further enriches the user experience, showcasing a historic aircraft at no charge for the latest simulator version. Overall, these updates provide a substantial improvement to the flight simulation experience.
