Sandvik Secures Major Underground Mining Equipment Order in Peru

Sandvik has been awarded an order worth SEK 320 million for underground mining equipment from Buenaventura in Peru, which includes loaders and drills for three mines. Deliveries will begin in Q3 2025, along with spare parts and maintenance services. Mats Eriksson, President of Sandvik, expressed optimism about enhancing productivity and safety.

Sandvik has secured a significant order for underground mining equipment from Compañia de Minas Buenaventura in Peru, valued at approximately SEK 320 million. This order, which was recorded in the first quarter of 2025, includes loaders and drills set to augment operations at three of Buenaventura’s mines: El Brocal, Yumpag, and Uchucchacua.

The delivery of the equipment is slated to commence in the third quarter of 2025, extending into the first quarter of 2026. Alongside the equipment, Sandvik will provide essential spare parts, components, and maintenance services throughout the equipment’s operational lifespan.

Mats Eriksson, President of Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions, emphasized, “We are very pleased to expand our partnership with Buenaventura by supplying a fleet of our highly productive mining equipment. We look forward to contributing to increased productivity and safety in their operations.”
