Pakistan plans to introduce a UN resolution against India and Afghanistan for allegedly supporting terrorism. Munir Akram emphasized the intention to unveil India’s involvement in terrorist activities. Pakistan also urged Afghanistan to take action against perpetrators of the recent Jaffar Express attack, which resulted in multiple casualties.
Pakistan has made the decision to propose a resolution at the United Nations, targeting both India and Afghanistan for their alleged support of terrorist activities. Munir Akram, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, announced this during the program ‘Dunya Meher Bokhari Kay Sath’. He emphasized the need to reveal India’s contributions to terrorism, particularly originating from Afghan territories.
Akram declared, “Our next step is to expose India’s support for terrorism at the UN,” indicating a more aggressive approach towards raising these issues on international platforms. He expressed concern that India’s allies often intervene to prevent sanctions from being imposed against it.
Recently, Pakistan called upon the Afghan government to take necessary actions against those behind the Jaffar Express attack in Balochistan. Foreign Office Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan described this incident as part of a larger terrorist agenda linked to influences from outside Pakistan and urged the Taliban-led Afghan government to enhance cooperation against terrorism.
On that violent day, terrorists attacked the Jaffar Express near Sibi, Balochistan, taking more than 400 passengers hostage. Pakistani forces successfully executed an operation that resulted in the elimination of all 33 attackers and the safe rescue of the passengers by the following Wednesday. Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, Director General of ISPR, reported that while the rescue operation succeeded, the attack had already resulted in the loss of 21 civilians, and four security personnel also lost their lives during the operation.
Pakistan is intensifying its diplomatic efforts to confront perceived terrorism threats from India and Afghanistan by proposing a resolution in the UN. The call for action against the recent Jaffar Express attack underscores the urgency of addressing cross-border terrorism, and the Pakistani military’s swift response highlights the ongoing security challenges in the region.
