World Update 19: Brazil, Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana has been released for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024, offering users an expansive free update. This update showcases diverse landscapes, detailed cities, and various landmarks, the result of collaboration among the Microsoft Flight Simulator team, Bing Maps, Maxar, and Vexcel, utilizing advanced geospatial technologies.

This update includes 75 Points of Interest (POIs) spanning Brazil, Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana. Notable sites include the Christ the Redeemer statue, Fort Zeelandia, and Monte Roraima. Four major cities featured predominantly in Brazil are Brasilia, Ouro Preto, Rio de Janeiro, and Sao Paulo.

Additionally, seven handcrafted airports are part of the update, designed by Gaya Simulations. Listed airports include: Santarem-Maestro Wilson Fonseca International Airport (SBSN), Foz do Iguacu International Airport (SBFI), and Fernando de Noronha Airport (SBFN) in Brazil; Kaieteur International Airport (SYKA/PKSA) in Guyana; Zorg en Hoop Airport (SMZO) in Suriname; and Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni Airport (SOOM) in French Guiana.

Furthermore, players can experience three Discovery Flights, three Landing Challenges, and three Bush Trips, although the latter is exclusive to Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 users. Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 will roll out additional Brazil-themed content, including a helicopter challenge and rally race, starting March 17th.

The update is available for free download from the MSFS Marketplace.

In addition to the world update, Microsoft Flight Simulator has introduced the Local Legend aircraft, the CAP-4 Paulistinha. This 1940s Brazilian light aircraft, developed by Companhia Aeronáutica Paulista, was intended for flight training and has design parallels with the Piper Cub.

The CAP-4 Paulistinha features a Franklin 4AC 4-cylinder piston engine, delivering up to 65 horsepower, with a range of 310 miles and a cruise speed of 87 MPH. It also has a service ceiling of 13,000 ft. Developed in association with iniBuilds, it is accessible at no cost for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 users as compensation for previous launch issues. Users of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 can purchase the aircraft on the MSFS Marketplace for $14.99.

World Update 19 delivers a comprehensive enhancement to Microsoft Flight Simulator, featuring a diverse range of natural scenery, cultural landmarks, and expertly crafted airports across Brazil, Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana. Alongside the update, the CAP-4 Paulistinha aircraft enriches user experience, providing a nostalgic flying experience reminiscent of flight training in the mid-20th century. This content showcases the commitment of Microsoft Flight Simulator to continuously expand and enhance the simulation environment for its users.
