Sudhanshu Trivedi announced PM Modi’s receipt of Mauritius’ top civilian award, signifying India’s role as ‘Vishwamitra’. Modi is the first Indian leader to receive this honor, following awards from 21 countries, highlighting India’s growing global stature and positive international relations under his leadership.
On March 12, BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi highlighted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s receipt of Mauritius’ highest civilian award, “The Grand Commander of the Order of the Star and Key of the Indian Ocean”, is a significant honor for India’s 140 crore citizens and reflects the increasing global recognition of India’s role as ‘Vishwamitra’.
During his two-day state visit to Mauritius, PM Modi became the first Indian leader to obtain this accolade, presented by President Dharam Gokhool at a formal ceremony. Trivedi noted that this is not an isolated recognition; previously, Barbados also awarded PM Modi its highest honor, making him a unique global leader with 21 such awards from multiple nations, including Russia, USA, and France.
Additionally, it is noteworthy that out of the 21 nations that conferred honors upon him, nine are Muslim countries, such as Egypt, UAE, and Palestine. According to Trivedi, PM Modi’s leadership has positioned India as a pivotal country, with various global powers enhancing their connections with India beyond economic and military dimensions.
Trivedi affirmed that under PM Modi’s stewardship, India is perceived not only as a growth engine for the world but also as a nation characterized by warmth and amicable relations, prompting countries to seek stronger ties with India.
The recent award conferred upon PM Modi by Mauritius underscores the shifting global perception of India, marking it as a leader in international relations and diplomacy. This award, along with other international honors, signals India’s growing significance on the world stage. Trivedi’s remarks reflect the recognition of India as a nation that fosters positive global relationships, positioning it as a potential ‘Vishwamitra’ in global diplomacy.
