Libero Copper Advances Resource Expansion with New Drilling at Mocoa Deposit

Libero Copper & Gold Corporation has begun drilling hole MD-046 as part of a 14,000-metre resource expansion program at its Mocoa copper-molybdenum deposit in Colombia. This hole aims to explore mineralization beyond previously identified zones, potentially redefining resource predictions. Significant geological features and QA processes underscore the commitment to advancing resource understanding and responsible mining practices.

Libero Copper & Gold Corporation has initiated drilling on hole MD-046, the third in a 14,000-metre resource expansion program at the Mocoa porphyry copper-molybdenum deposit in Putumayo, Colombia. This hole is strategically designed to explore mineralization beyond previously drilled areas, enhancing resource estimation. Results from MD-046 will build on data from earlier holes MD-043, MD-044, and MD-045, emphasizing continuity in copper and molybdenum mineralization in the area.

Hole MD-046, currently extending beyond a depth of 650 metres, will assess areas projected as waste in earlier models. Positioned at an azimuth of 40 degrees and a -65-degree dip, it aims to identify mineralized extensions that could redefine the scope of the Mocoa deposit. Early results reveal that the initial 90 metres of MD-046 intersected strongly altered dacite porphyry rich in iron oxides, with mineralization becoming evident as drilling progresses.

Libero Copper’s drilling is part of a comprehensive strategy to enhance its resource base, potentially unlocking further copper-molybdenum potential. As the drilling continues, MD-046 has intersected significant mineralization, marking the first exploration into areas previously dismissed as waste. Observations indicate complex mineralizing events illustrated by the presence of various vein types and strong alteration signatures.

The Mocoa deposit, located roughly 10 kilometres from Mocoa town, sees ongoing exploration efforts across extensive land holdings. The region is noted for its significant geological features, with mineralization associated with Jurassic-aged dacite porphyry intrusions. Preliminary assessments suggest that the deposit remains open for exploration both along strike and depth, indicating potential for further discovery.

Libero Copper adheres to stringent quality assurance and control protocols in its operations. Drilling efforts utilize a combination of HQ and NQ core diameters, with samples analyzed for copper and molybdenum at independent laboratories. Advances in drilling will contribute to developing a clearer understanding of the Mocoa resource base, reinforcing Libero’s commitment to responsible mining, relationships, and sustainable progress.

Libero Copper’s progress on hole MD-046 represents a crucial step in expanding the resource potential at the Mocoa deposit. By exploring previously neglected areas, the company aims to enhance its resource base effectively. With ongoing analysis and adherence to quality protocols, the results from this project could have significant implications for both Libero Copper and the broader copper supply landscape.
