Initially, I was unaware that a cyclone could affect a location in Africa, leading me to research extensively about Jude’s destructive journey across Mozambique, where it reached speeds of 149 km/h, causing severe flooding and infrastructure damage.
Life in different parts of the world showcases diverse building techniques; for instance, I have seen homes constructed from cardboard boxes in Chile and concrete structures built to withstand hurricanes in Hawaii. Blantyre, housing over 800,000 residents, is Malawi’s economic hub, but concerns arose about its ability to endure the cyclone’s effects.
Tracking Jude revealed a change in its path, sparing Blantyre the worst but still bringing significant rainfall.
