During his visit, Modi will meet Mauritius Prime Minister Dr. Navinchandra Ramgoolam and discuss their shared history and cultural ties. He emphasized that Mauritius is a vital partner in the Indian Ocean and a link to Africa, enriched by deep mutual trust and shared democratic values.

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri outlined that Modi will pay homage at the Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanical Garden, honoring key figures in Mauritian history such as Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam and Sir Anerood Jugnauth. There will be official meetings, including one with the new President of Mauritius, and the Prime Minister’s engagements will include project inaugurations and signing of several MOUs.

Additionally, Modi and Ramgoolam will inaugurate projects benefiting from Indian assistance and sign cooperation agreements focusing on capacity building, trade, tackling cross-border financial crimes, and promoting small and medium enterprises. The visit will also facilitate interactions with the Indian community and socio-cultural organizations in Mauritius during the trip.
