ELEVEN books from 163 entries for the 2024 Nigeria Prize for Literature have been longlisted.
The books within the working for the ultimate shortlist of three for the $100,000 prize are 'A Father's Delight' by Ndidi Chiazor-Enenmo, 'Bode's Birthday Get together' by Akanni Festus Olaniyi, 'Grandma and The Moon's Hidden Secret' by Jumoke Verissimo, 'Mighty Mite and Golden Jewel' by Henry Akubuiro and 'Risi Recycle – The Dustbin Woman' by Temiloluwa Adeshina.
The others are 'The Youngsters at The IDP Camp' by Olatunbosun Taofeek, 'The Magic Jalabiya' by Ayo Adeliyi Oyeku, 'The Street Does Not Finish' by Familoni Oluranti Olubunmi, 'The Third Aspect of A Coin' by Hyginus Ekwuazi, ' Village Boy' by Anietie Usen and 'Want Maker' by Uchechukwu Peter Umezurike.
The Chairman of the Jury, Professor Saleh Abdu of the Federal College of Kashere, Gombe State, offered the record to the Advisory Board. Different members of the Jury are Professor Vicky Sylvester and Dr. Osarobu Igudia.
