The Niger State Christian Association has commended Governor Bago for reintroducing CRK in public schools, highlighting the importance of moral education and inclusivity in fostering societal harmony.
The Niger State Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has praised Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago for his approval to reintroduce Christian Religious Knowledge (CRK) in public schools. Most Rev. Dr. Bulus Dauwa Yohanna, the Chairman of CAN, emphasized that the Governor’s actions reflect concern for all citizens, regardless of their faith.
The Governor announced this decision during a meeting with a delegation from the Christian community, which included CAN leaders and the Deputy Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly, Hon. Afiniki Dauda. He stated that the reintroduction of CRK aims to instill the fear of God in children and make the subject compulsory for Christian students, addressing concerns over moral decay caused by social vices.
In his remarks, Yohanna highlighted that the Governor’s initiative will enhance understanding and mutual respect among different faiths. He praised Bago’s leadership as inclusive and fair, promoting unity in a diverse society. The Chairman stressed the importance of collaboration among government, parents, religious leaders, and community stakeholders to secure the future of the youth.
Governor Bago’s reintroduction of CRK in Niger public schools has received substantial support from CAN, signaling a commitment to moral education and interfaith respect. This initiative aims to counter social vices and strengthen family values, ultimately fostering a harmonious society. Continued cooperation among all stakeholders is essential for its success.
