Doha’s Cabinet met recently to discuss various legislative measures and diplomatic outcomes. The meeting, chaired by Prime Minister H E Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, focused on reinforcing Arab solidarity, particularly concerning Palestinian rights, seeking to end the Gaza conflict and support reconstruction efforts.
The Cabinet approved a draft law on lost property and unclaimed money to ensure proper procedures are in place for handling such items, which should facilitate their return to rightful owners and encourage finders to report lost property.
Additionally, the Cabinet praised the Ministry of Justice’s new strategic plan for 2025-2030. The strategy, part of the Third National Development Strategy, aims at enhancing judicial services, fostering partnerships within the legal sector, and promoting sustainable economic development through improved judicial competencies.
Furthermore, the Cabinet welcomed the National Archives of Qatar Strategy for 2025-2030, which focuses on documenting the nation’s history through digitization and community outreach, preserving the legacy for future generations and fostering national pride.
Additional legislative actions included approving a draft law concerning ministers, also referred to the Shura Council. Another resolution by the Minister of State for Energy Affairs was endorsed, which outlines protective measures for public electrical and water facilities, adhering to Law No. (13) of 2024.
Lastly, the Cabinet ratified agreements with Sierra Leone regarding labor regulations and a joint cooperation committee. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed with Uzbekistan’s Department for Combating Economic Crimes to enhance collaboration against money laundering. They also reviewed reports on Qatar’s participation in recent international conferences, ensuring ongoing engagement in regional and global dialogues.
The Cabinet’s recent meeting in Doha addressed key legislative proposals, celebrated national strategies for justice and history preservation, and reinforced Qatar’s diplomatic commitments.
