Kazakhstan, China, and Chinese Taipei Feature in Women’s Finals at Strandja Tournament

The 76th edition of the Strandja Memorial Tournament in Bulgaria features women’s boxing finals with contestants from Kazakhstan, China, and Chinese Taipei. At the 76th Strandja Memorial Tournament in Sofia, Bulgaria, women’s boxing is featuring finalists from China, Chinese Taipei, and Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan’s Aigerim Sattibayeva faced Ireland’s Ciara Walsh in the semi-finals and will compete against Bulgaria’s seasoned boxer Sevda Asenova for the title. Meanwhile, 22-year-old Anel Sakysh, with over five years of experience, progressed to the finals after defeating France’s Melissa Bounoua and will face Turkey’s Nilay Yaren Cam.

Chinese Taipei’s Wu Shih Yi showcased her skills by defeating Turkey’s Pinar Benek and will compete against Kazakhstan’s Aidana Zabynbekova in the featherweight category. Kazakhstan’s Rimma Volosenko will battle against World bronze medallist Donjeta Sadiku from Kosovo after winning her semi-final against Italy’s Rebecca Nicoli.

Li Qian from China, a veteran in the welterweight (66kg) category, won her semi-final against Kazakhstan’s Gaukhar Shaybekova and will meet Turkey’s Berfin Kabak next. Chinese Taipei’s Chen Nien Chin triumphed over Turkey’s Nilay Kocyigit and will face Greece’s Elisavet Konstantinidou for the light middleweight (70kg) title.

In the middleweight (75kg) category, Li Qian defeated Italy’s Melissa Gemini and is set to face Greece’s Vasiliki Stavridou in the final. Additionally, Bu Ridu, representing China, overcame Turkey’s Rabia Yuceer to advance in the light heavyweight (81kg) division.
