Iran’s AEOI chief Mohammad Eslami declared that the country will not obstruct IAEA monitoring of its nuclear facilities. He emphasized ongoing cooperation within the framework of the Non-Proliferation Treaty and acknowledged a rise in inspections due to enhanced nuclear capabilities. Eslami also dismissed unfounded allegations against Iran’s nuclear program as fabrications linked to Israeli provocations.
Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization (AEOI) chief, Mohammad Eslami, confirmed that Iran will not hinder the International Atomic Energy Agency’s (IAEA) inspections of its nuclear facilities. He stated, “The relationship between Iran and the IAEA is within the framework of safeguards and the NPT [Non-Proliferation Treaty],” emphasizing that Iran has consistently granted access for monitoring and will continue to do so without creating obstacles.
Eslami noted that Iran has increased the frequency of inspections of its nuclear sites as its inspection capacity has grown. He mentioned, “When we carry out nuclear activities… changing the scale will naturally change the monitoring level,” indicating that increased nuclear capability leads to more oversight.
Recent reports indicated that Iran had agreed to enhance monitoring following the IAEA’s critical resolution regarding Iran’s cooperation. Eslami explained that interactions would continue between the IAEA and Iran to resolve any outstanding issues related to undeclared sites where uranium traces were reportedly found.
He also addressed allegations against Iran’s nuclear program, claiming they are unfounded and perpetuated by Israeli authorities. “These distortions and provocations stem from the Zionist regime… Their aim is to incite the world against Iran,” he stated, emphasizing the need to disregard fabricated claims perpetuated by adversarial actors.
Iran has reiterated its commitment to transparency with the IAEA, allowing for an increase in monitoring amid growing nuclear capabilities. Eslami’s assertions seek to mitigate allegations made against Iran’s nuclear program, framing them as politically motivated fabrications. Cooperation with the IAEA is expected to continue as Iran aims to resolve misunderstandings surrounding its nuclear activities.
