According to the Sudanese Foreign Ministry, Kenya’s actions violate various international agreements, including those established by the United Nations and the African Union. Last week, Sudan’s opposition forces, among them the RSF, formalized plans for a parallel civilian government during a meeting in Kenya.
The ongoing conflict between the SAF and RSF has escalated dramatically since April 2023, resulting in approximately 29,683 fatalities by late 2024 according to crisis monitoring group Armed Conflict Location and Event Data.
