Libya Seeks to Host AIPU Headquarters in Benghazi

Libya has requested to host the headquarters of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union in Benghazi. This was announced by the HoR spokesperson during the AIPU Executive Committee session. The meeting focused on charter amendments and future sessions, including a scheduled session in Algeria for May 2025.

Libya has made a formal request to the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union (AIPU) to establish its headquarters in Benghazi. This announcement was made by Abdullah Bliheg, the spokesperson for the House of Representatives (HoR). The request was presented during the 37th extraordinary session of the AIPU Executive Committee, in which MP Abdel Salam Nasiyah represented Libya’s HoR.

During the meeting, the committee reviewed a report regarding amendments to the union’s charter. Additionally, the members decided to conduct the 38th AIPU session in Algeria, scheduled for the first half of May 2025. They also approved the final financial report concerning the budget for 2024.
