A coalition including the RSF recently signed a charter in Nairobi aimed at establishing a parallel government, which the Kenyan foreign minister described as a move toward restoring democratic governance in Sudan. Sudan’s foreign ministry condemned these efforts, asserting they posed a grave threat to regional security.
In response, Sudan announced it would escalate measures against Kenya, including potential economic sanctions and recalling its ambassador. Sudan’s leadership alleged that Kenya’s support enables the RSF to procure weapons and prolong the conflict, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis in Sudan.
