A cadre of Mongolian junior judokas, propelled by notable figures such as Hero of Labor Tsagaanbaatar Khashbaatar and Olympic bronze medallist G. Otgontsetseg, excelled at the Samorin Cadet European Cup and Genoa Cadet European Cup in 2025, amassing a total of nine medals.
At the Genoa tournament, the team garnered three gold and two bronze medals, while they achieved two gold and two bronze at Samorin. Among the standout performances, B. Gundegmaa captured gold in the girls’ 52 kg category, and Kh. Maralmaa also secured gold in the 63 kg category.
In the boys’ 55 kg class, P. Altantsooj clinched a bronze, complementing the success of M. Tsendbazar who earned a bronze in the 57 kg category for girls. Notably, four additional athletes demonstrated excellent performance within the top rankings.
B. Gundegmaa displayed remarkable prowess, proceeding directly to the second round with a bye and then defeating contenders from Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, and Poland en route to her gold victory. Kh. Maralmaa mirrored this success in her pool, overcoming judokas from Israel, the Czech Republic, Austria, and Serbia after also receiving a bye, securing her gold medal.
