In an exciting display of skill, Salvator Ngezendore, a golfer with a handicap of 9, claimed the overall victory at the KCB East Africa Golf Tour. Ngezendore scored an impressive 39 stableford points during Saturday’s event held at the Bujumbura Golf Club, showcasing his talent among the region’s best players. In the ladies’ division, Ngezendore Nininahazwe, with a handicap of 36, also shined with 38 points, earning her the ladies’ title.

After his impressive win, Ngezendore expressed his pride and anticipation, stating, “This is truly a priceless moment for me. I am proud of myself for coming here to compete against some of the best players in the region.” He is looking forward to representing Bujumbura Golf Club at the grand finale in Nairobi. The winning mentality is strong: “We will go out there with only one thing in mind – to win and bring the cup home,” he added.

Meanwhile, KCB’s Managing Director for Burundi, Masika Mukule, stood out in the staff category, finishing as the top staff participant with a solid performance, ending with 38 points off a handicap of 29. The event not only highlighted individual talents but also set up a competitive spirit among KCB staff.

Both Ngezendore and Larrissa, alongside three other top performers, will represent Burundi at the grand finale slated for December in Nairobi. Participants have a chance to win KCB’s grand prize of KSh 1 million, a thrilling incentive that could energize the members from Bujumbura Golf Club.

The KCB East Africa Golf Tour has already made its mark throughout the region, previously hosting events at several renowned golf clubs, including the Royal Nairobi Golf Club and Mombasa Sports Club. The next leg of the tour will be at the picturesque Kericho Golf Course on May 17, 2025, expected to draw attention with around 250 golfers participating.
