Tata Motors has launched three electric vehicles—the Tiago EV, Punch EV, and Nexon EV—in Mauritius through a partnership with Allied Motors. The models feature enhanced battery capacities and similar technical specifications compared to their Indian counterparts, without significant modifications to equipment. Tata plans to expand its EV lineup further with additional models in the near future.
Tata Motors has partnered with Allied Motors to launch the Tiago EV, Punch EV, and Nexon EV in Mauritius, marking the brand’s first EV introduction outside of the SAARC region. This follows their previous introduction of ICE and EV models in Sri Lanka. Below are the key specifications of the newly launched electric vehicles in Mauritius.
The Tiago EV comes equipped with a 24 kWh battery pack, producing 75 PS of power and 114 Nm of torque, with a claimed range of 190-210 km. The Punch EV is powered by a 35 kWh battery, generating 122 PS and 190 Nm of torque, and boasts a range of 270-290 km. Lastly, the Nexon EV features a 45 kWh battery, delivers 144 PS and 215 Nm of torque, and offers a range of 350-375 km.
While the Tiago EV’s range is slightly higher by 5 km compared to its Indian counterpart, the Punch and Nexon EVs retain their Indian-spec ranges. Despite differences in powertrains, there are no changes in equipment for these models.
In addition to these cars, Tata has plans to launch the Harrier EV and Sierra EV, which were recently showcased at the Auto Expo 2025. Additionally, an electric Safari is on the horizon as Tata’s flagship EV model, contributing to its expanding portfolio in the electric vehicle market.
Tata Motors’ launch of the Tiago, Punch, and Nexon EVs in Mauritius signifies its growing presence in the international EV market. The vehicles offer competitive specifications and ranges, with only the Tiago EV having a slightly improved range over its Indian version. Tata’s upcoming launches of more electric models reflect its commitment to expanding its EV offerings.
