The meeting took place during Shehbaz’s four-day official visit from March 19 to 22, aimed at enhancing economic cooperation and investment between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
During the talks, which were attended by key figures including the Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir and Deputy PM Ishaq Dar, both leaders explored opportunities to bolster military cooperation and mutual interests. PM Shehbaz expressed gratitude for Saudi Arabia’s commitment to increasing investments in significant sectors within Pakistan, recognizing their shared vision of prosperity.
Notable points from the meeting included a commitment to enhance the welfare of the Pakistani community in Saudi Arabia and strengthen cultural and educational exchanges. This visit was prompted by an invitation from MBS, with Shehbaz planning to spend time in holy sites like Makkah and Madina, in addition to his meetings in Jeddah. Previously, in October 2024, Shehbaz attended the Future Investment Initiative in Saudi Arabia and the countries had signed several MoUs worth over $2 billion to foster trade during that visit.
