The meeting involved high-ranking officials, including General Asim Munir, Ishaq Dar, and Maryam Nawaz.
This high-level meeting occurred during PM Shehbaz’s four-day official visit to Saudi Arabia from March 19 to 22, which aims to bolster economic cooperation and investment between the two nations. The leaders highlighted mutual interests, stressing the importance of military cooperation.
Appreciating Saudi Arabia’s commitment, PM Shehbaz emphasized the increasing investments in Pakistan’s vital sectors. He noted, “Our enduring friendship & shared vision for prosperity is taking our bilateral relations to new heights.” He also recognized Saudi Arabia’s efforts to promote peace in the Middle East and Ukraine.
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman acknowledged the contributions of the Pakistani community in Saudi Arabia. Both leaders agreed to enhance welfare measures for this community, emphasizing the need for better cultural exchanges and educational collaboration between the two nations.
During this visit, PM Shehbaz also planned to spend time in Makkah, Madina, and Jeddah, where he is expected to meet King Salman bin Abdul Aziz. His trip follows a previous visit in October 2024 for the Future Investment Initiative, during which significant agreements were made to improve trade and investment, amounting to over $2 billion in bilateral agreements.
