Chachine condemned the ongoing kidnappings, stating, “We want to reiterate our condemnation of these acts, which hold back investment and endanger public order, security and tranquillity.” He stressed that those responsible for public disorder will face individual criminal consequences.
In addition, he called for more robust actions against money laundering and terrorism financing, advocating for the implementation of advanced investigation techniques. Chachine remarked that these challenges necessitate a proactive and disciplined SERNIC free from corruption.

This statement came shortly before the confirmation of another kidnapping victim, an Indian shopkeeper from Chokwe, whose body was discovered in a shallow grave, leading to the arrest of seven suspects, including two police officers.
