The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has allocated N242.8 million for acquiring a Microsoft 365 licence, which is key to digitizing the operations of the Federal Capital Territory Internal Revenue Service (FCT-IRS). This decision was announced by Mr. Michael Ango, the Acting Executive Chairman of FCT-IRS, during an FCT Executive Committee meeting led by Minister Nyesom Wike in Abuja.
Mr. Ango highlighted the FCTA’s commitment to investing in technology to enhance revenue generation and collection efficiency. He noted, “This is also one of those investments in technology that the FCT is undertaking. The licence, if procured, will enhance our ability to move most of our manual processes into automated processes.”
The implementation of the Microsoft 365 licence is expected to automate various manual tasks, thereby improving internal communication and operational efficiency. Moreover, it will facilitate reduced paper consumption and better document management through cloud storage.
Ango stressed that digitization will significantly enhance the operational capabilities of FCT-IRS. This aligns with the government’s objective of increasing revenue for the advancement of the Federal Capital Territory, as supported by Mr. Wike’s leadership.
